Committed to Empowering Old Lesbians

June 2009

Dear OLOC Sisters:

My first OLOC Gathering was in Durham, NC in 2006 and provided me with exactly what I needed: Lesbians my age in abundance –intelligent women, humorous women, Lesbians facing the same challenges I was facing with my own body, mind, and spirit. Since that day my life has changed forever. OLOC has given me a purpose for living like never before.

- Carole Stoneking, Columbia SC

I first found OLOC four years ago, at the age of 74, and felt as if I had finally come home. After years of always being the oldest woman at whatever meeting or party I attended, I have finally found my peers. In 2008 I attended my first National OLOC Gathering, and had one of the best times of my life. Seeing some 200 Old Lesbians, proudly wearing their gray hair and wrinkles, with big smiles on their faces as they greeted old friends and women they had never seen before, was a joy like no other.

- Tita Caldwell, Northern California

Your tax-exempt donations will keep OLOC strong as a politically astute, feminist activist movement, bringing our unique perspective to the broader LGBT and women's movements and to mainstream organizations serving old people.

In sisterhood,
Tita Caldwell, 1931 [deceased 2012]
Carole Stoneking, 1937
