Dear Old Lesbians: June 2014

I was 59 when I joined OLOC because my mentor and friend Alix Dobkin was Co-Director. When I was a young dyke, she asked me if I wanted to be a participant in the Lesbian community. That was a challenge I was ready to take. I could not get enough of my culture because I needed it for my survival in the unreal world.

I believe strongly in womyn-only space; dykes coming together is a political act. Now that I'm an OLOC member, it feels like this is the next round of Lesbian community. We need members to first renew their memberships and secondly recruit one Lesbian to join. We need money to support OLOC's programs and help fund financial aid so all members can go to the National Gathering. The Gathering is where we come together to share memories of past glories, while planning for the future.

Please give what you can to OLOC and continue what we started in the 70's when the revolution we call the Womyn's Movement was at its height. For those who are eligible for itemized deductions, your donation is tax-deductible.
