Committed to Empowering Old Lesbians

June 2015

Dear OLOC friends and supporters,

When I was in my 30's and a lusty, Lesbian feminist activist, I rarely thought about what my 60's would look like. My writing, editing, social activism, and girlfriends filled my days with a sense of purpose. They also gave me a sense of family, and, to me, that was everything.

I got that sense of family again at the OLOC 2014 National Gathering in Oakland. I shared the stage with some of the most exciting storytellers in our community, then got to share lunch and lobby conversations and elevator chats with even more storytellers – the members of OLOC.

Finding that group of Lesbians who can share memories and a sense of social change is just as important at age 60 or 70 or 80 as it was at 30. OLOC, with your (tax-exempt) support, can continue to be that place where we find each other, hear our stories, and continue to organize for change.

All my best,

Dorothy Allison, 1949

P.S. And don't forget to visit OLOC online (if you can) to keep up with our OLOC family!
